Role: “The Woman Who Moved to the City and Got Slightly Meaner (Affectionately)”
Found in a Lower East Side basement. Earned everywhere after.
Bought for forty dollars from a man named Sal who swore it had history, and he was right — it just hadn't met hers yet. It rode the subway at 2 a.m., stood outside venues it couldn't afford to be inside, and learned to take up exactly enough space to be left alone. The zipper sticks at the third tooth. Everyone who's worn it has loved someone they shouldn't have. It is unbothered by all of it.
Some stories end. Some just get recast.
