Plot

Shoulder pads with the structural integrity of a small bridge. This blazer walked into open-plan offices, fluorescent lighting, and a startling number of 9 a.m. meetings, and it played the part beautifully — sharp, capable, faintly skeptical. Worn the day the plan changed. Kept, for years, as proof she could do the bit if she had to.
